Session Description

This session will provide an analysis of transitioning from tube-type transmitters to solid state transmitters for TV and radio stations. The discussion will include:

• Choosing the right transmitter – Liquid-cooled, or Air-cooled
• Installation pros and cons
• Total cost of ownership from acquisition to replacement

Presenter Bio

Steven Rossiter is Sr. TV Applications Engineer for the Television Transmission Group at GatesAir, in Quincy IL, & Mason, OH. He has worked in the broadcast industry for more than 25 years, starting in the United States Army as a Microwave Systems & Telecommunications Technician & Engineer, with 21 years in the Army & Army Reserves. Steven continued his broadcast career at Harris Broadcast Division back in 1998, in the Antenna and RF Division and has worked at Dielectric Communications as an Applications Engineer. Steven has a degree in Electronics, and has authored several publications and technical papers for major conferences worldwide. Steven also works with the ATSC committee and is a member of the SBE.
