This presentation will provide a detailed and widespread look at recent and upcoming changes in EAS, linking to changes in the broadcast industry like virtualization, AoIP and ATSC 3.0. We will review FCC proposals for EAS and how they will impact broadcasters. We will also discuss how EAS can support AoIP and broadcast virtualization, along with advanced options for remote EAS monitoring and control. The presentation will review new developments in emergency communications and NextGenTV, including partnerships between industry and government to explore ATSC 3.0. We will also review how existing EAS infrastructure can cost-effectively enable new alerting services.
